Q&A with Kuemper Catholic defensive end Evan Adams
How did the high school football season go overall?
“We fell short of state, which was our goal, but we’re able to see what we were capable of.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am currently in track and will continue to work out and prepare for my college football career.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We have lots of talent but do lack size on the line, hopefully we can make ends meet and be successful.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“We just got bumped up to a class, I am unfamiliar with what they are capable of but am excited to see.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Similar to the last question, I wish I knew more but I really don’t. Whoever it is, we will prepare the best we can.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“Our season was good, we came up just short of being in substate and we easily could've gone 7-2 but we couldn’t get things going in the first half of games in the beginning of the season.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am currently doing 7on7, track, and AAU basketball, along with lifting 5 days a week.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“N/A.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“N/A.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“N/A.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“The football season for me personally went very well. I had 1567 yards and 20 touchdowns on the year. As a team we went 6-4 and lost to 3 very good teams Xavier, Waverly, and North Scott twice.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Right now I am running track and competing in a 7v7 team called the Iowa Gators coached by Matt Meek.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We have good chances in our district with a lot of returning starters coming back this year. We do not have our full schedule out yet.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“In our district Waverly has always been coached well and dominant up front.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“If our schedule includes North Scott the best player would be Kyle Geradi.”

Q&A with Humboldt wide receiver Corey Dettmann
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Our team did very well this year. We made it back to the Dome and lost in the semifinals to Mount Vernon. We didn’t get the finish we wanted but we definitely did better than most people thought we would’ve.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“After football, I played basketball. I will play baseball in the summer. Currently, I am playing golf. For workouts we have weekly lifting sessions and running sessions.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“Next year, I feel that Humboldt will be very solid again. We are losing a lot of good seniors but we have very good underclassmen, who are willing to work coming up. I believe that we will be very tough to beat again this next year.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Webster City, Algona, and Clear Lake will definitely be good games.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Alex Manske from Algona is tough. Thomas Meyer from Clear Lake had a great season this year. Scott Harr from Hampton is also very good. Jaxson Cherry is a super good running back for Webster City.”

How did the high school football season go overall?
“This season went amazing. We made it to the championship.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am currently playing soccer and I am working out hard 4x a week.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We will obviously be missing some great players next year, but we have some second stringers that will be able to step up and play with the physicality we had last year.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I am not sure what our schedule is now with all the group and class changes.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“No idea. Anyone can put in work in the offseason and become a problem for opposing teams.”
