Districts Results? Upsets? Ect Please post here

Kody Daily from Iowa City High was ahead 13-0 in his semi match and then got pinned, falling into the consi bracket. He won his 3rd place match, but there was no wrestleback and he will not make it to Des Moines.

Otherwise, as near as I could tell things pretty much followed form at ICW, although I left before the true 2nd place matches were wrestled.

ICW had district champs at 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 160 and 170. I don't think any of their wrestlers were still alive to qualify in the true 2nd match, maybe 1, their 152 pounder, but I am not sure.

I don't know if this is really an upset, but from a historical perspective, it's at least noteworthy.

Has there ever been State wrestling tournament without West Waterloo?

Yes we didnt qualify anyone in 2008. However it is the first time the Waterloo public schools has not qualifed anyone. It's really heartbreaking to see what has happend to the program since my teams and buddies teams turned everything back around at west from 2000-2005.

I'd love the challenge of the job. I know it's not the old days, but I'd still love the challenge. But then, I've always liked building things!
