Between Grundy Center, North Butler, Rockford and West Fork, the Class A District 3 All-District teams are loaded with local talent. The Spartans secured five spots on the 1st team, Caleb Kuiper, Nolan Freeman, Cade Rohler, Josh Kuiper and Jordan Hook. The Warhawks had three of their own, Alex Bender, Ian Gonzalez and Kyle Rooney while North Butler added two more, Brandon Trees and Rhett Lammers and Rockford’s Clay Kuhlemeier made the list.
The Class A District 3 2nd team had two from each school; Grundy Center’s Drew Rathe and Zach Grant, Bearcats Jared Feldman and Kendrick Miller, Warriors Tanner Grady and Zach Bushbaum and Warhawks Trey Pfeffer and Mitchell Halloran. Honorable mention spots went to Spartans Mathew Sternhagen and Aaraon Havens, Sam Dolan and Bryce Trees of the Bearcats, Rockford’s Weston Schmidt and West Fork’s Jesse Chibambo and Collin Meints.
Grundy Center had 9 members of the All-Academic 1st Team and 6 more on the 2nd team. West Fork had 3 1st teamers and 4 additional on 2nd team while North Butler had 6 qualify for 1st Team All-Academic and 2 on 2nd team. Rockford tallied 7 Warriors on 1st team, 3 on 2nd team and West Fork had 3 on the 1st team and 4 on 2nd team.
The Class A District 3 Champions were state playoff qualifier Saint Ansgar and Saints head coach Drew Clevenger won the Coach of the Year and running back Dayton Smith received Offensive MVP. West Hancock Eagle Hunter Hagen was voted as Defensive MVP of the District.
