Watch out during track season, as he is running jv right now. I don't know the specifics and do not want to speak without knowing them. With that said, I cannot wait to watch him in track.

1 Alex Ntagawa, Jr 15:05 Urbandale

I believe he is jv due to transfer rules, but am hoping that someone who knows the truth would help us out.

Story on Texas news about his journey here:

Story in Des Moines Register about him coming to Urbandale/transfer/eligibility

Awesome that he is having so much success.

Is this result accurate or a typo? If accurate, is this course 5k or a bit short? If this is a legit result, then wow. State this year may have multiple people under 15 (if the weather cooperates). Also, is this Urbandale kid eligible to run at state? The Des Moines Register makes it seem like he is, but if there's a 90 day ineligibility period, I don't know how that can be the case.

all the Marion kids were 40-60 seconds slower at independence a week ago (although, I would say Independence is not the fastest course in the world - it is about average to a bit faster than normal). So, I would say those times are a bit on the fast side - either do to a course that is a bit short, flat, great day, combination of all 3. Either way - I would still say that is a 15 "something" time.

This is a tremendous story! I hope that they let him run at the state meet! All that he has been through, he is obviously not transferring to be a runner. I hope IAHSAA hears the appeal and overturns their ruling. Anything anyone can do to help?
