St. Edmond handed Clear Lake its first loss in conference play with a 62-53 win over the 8-5 Lions.
This is big because the Gaels suffered a 22-point beating in their first game at Clear Lake and were just coming off a 33-point loss to Humboldt.
The SE girls also got revenge on Clear Lake with a 55-42 win, after dropping the first game, 66-42.

A bit of both. SE played pretty good defense and Clear Lake wasn't able to just have their way inside. The Gaels jumped out to an early lead and then did a good job of keeping their distance as the game went on.
The Lions threw everything they could at them in the 2nd half to cut into the deficit but the Gaels did a nice job of handling both the full court pressure and the half court traps, and then they hit their free throws to close out.
The win also snapped Clear Lake's 25-game conference win streak.
