Western Dubuque vs. Lewis Central Game and Comments

Western Dubuque takes a 28- 7 lead into halftime. Two early turnovers hurt CBLC, as the Bobcats scored after both of them. WD led 21-7 with about a minute to go after a Lewis Central TD. Western Dubuque took the kickoff and ran it to the 47, and then went in for another TD with about 24 seconds left. LC took a knee and we are at halftime. Western Dubuque looking awfully strong behind LSU-bound quarterback Calvin Harris.

In second half-- Western Dubuque now up 41-7.
Now 48-7-- continuous clock; WD reserve backs in.

Game ended 48-14 as WD did not try to score at the end. Very powerful performance. On to the championship against either Solon or SB- Luten. The Western Dubuque girls are in the championship game also in volleyball, but their young team, with five freshmen and sophomores in the starting lineup, will have quite a challenge against very strong SB- Luten. The Bobcat girls did knock out defending champ Wahlert, which had the best player in the state, and then CR Xavier, and then Marion, in three straight upsets, so who knows?
