Game of the week: West Bend Mallard @ MMC
Seems like each year for the past 3 or so these two teams have met in the regular season with a lot riding on the game. This year makes no difference. MMC looks to wrap up the district slate undefeated and begin to make another deep playoff run. West Bend on the other hand looks to try put an end to MMC's district title run and try to get the top seed as well. This game as usual will be very interesting as both teams seem to match up very well on paper. I see MMC just being too talented and will pull away in the 4th quarter. MMC with the district title.
Upset of the week: River Valley, Correctionville @ Ar-We-Va
Not a huge upset in the eyes of many, but this is big for me especially after Ar-We-Va struggled to compete last year in any game they played winning just one game all year. This year they stand a win away from making it to the playoffs as a 4 seed and having a winning record heading into the playoffs at 5-4. It doesn't get much easier in District 1 with these two teams. Win and you are in. I feel Ar-We-Va comes ready to play and gets the upset punching their ticket to the playoffs.
Game to keep an eye on: Guthrie Center @ Adair Casey
A little bit off the radar but this game could be a huge game in District 7. With the bottom two spots still up for grabs (assuming CRB beats East Union Friday) neither of these teams can afford to take a loss at this point. Guthrie its simple for them. Win and you are in as the #3 seed. Adair on the other hand would need a win and a little bit of help from the points system creating a 3 way tie and all the teams beating each other. This game gets even more interesting in that these two schools are just miles apart and have been rumored to possibly be joining in the coming years. Might be on the of last meetings between the two with huge implications on the line. Keep an eye on this one.
