Looking at top RPI teams and BC Moore predictions. These are all of the top RPI teams involving games in which the score difference will be around 25 points.
Osage vs AP (Osage by 9.6) Osage has already won district. They are currently a 9 seed, but is .0040 from becoming an 8 seed which would give them a home game in the first round.
PC vs I-35 (PC by 10.22) Both teams are in the playoffs, but this game means alot in the seeding of the playoffs and who plays who in the first and second round.
West Lyon vs Western Christian (WL by 14.36) I was surprised the spread was roughly 2 touchdowns. A West Lyon loss would knock them out of the playoffs.
Mediapolis vs Sigourney-Keota (Mepo by 14.95) Mediapolis needs to win to stay in the playoffs. If SK could pull off a victory they would be very close to sneaking in.
DNH vs Regina (DNH by 21.29) This game is for the district championship. DNH is in the playoffs regardless. A win by DNH seals up at least a first round home game and loss will put them on the road. Regina has to win this game to be in the playoffs or they are out. If Regina would win they would more then likely be on the road in the first round. A win by Regina would shake up the playoffs quite a bit. It would knock a team out, probably Underwood or South Hamilton. It would also give Treynor and Osage a home game in the first round.
Treynor vs Cherokee (Treynor by 21.46) Treynor has already won District. A loss however would most likely put them on the road for the first round of the playoffs.
Mount Ayr vs ACGC (Mount Ayr by 22.43) A Mount Ayr loss will knock them out of the playoffs. With Sumner-Fredericksburg's non district schedule predicted to go 0-4 this week they need alot of help. This is one of those games that can help them out. SF will be cheering hard for an ACGC upset.
Underwood vs Mo Valley (Underwood by 23.4) A loss by Underwood would knock them out. A Mo Valley win gives Sumner - Fredericksburg another hope and prayer to slide into the playoffs.
Bellevue vs Cascade (Bellevue by 25.34) Bellevue is in the playoffs regardless. A Bellevue win would lock up home field in both the first and second round. A Cascade win, plus a West Branch win vs Beckman would cause a 3 way time in the district. All 3 teams would be automatic qualifiers with West Branch getting the first round home game, sending both Bellevue and Cascade on the road. Like the DNH/Regina game this has the ability to knock out teams like South Hamilton and Underwood.
West Branch vs Beckman (West Branch by 25.5) As previously noted West Branch can still tie for a District Title with a Win this week and a Cascade win over Bellevue. I believe West Branch is going to be in the playoffs regardless and probably a loss by West Branch wouldn't even change much in terms of their playoff schedule.
With all this said the biggest games to watch in terms of shaking up the playoffs are DNH vs Regina and Bellevue vs Cascade. The fact that DNH is on the road at Regina and that Bellevue may not be 100% healthy makes these games even more interesting. Should be a fun Week 9!
