Here are my week 7 top 10 rankings:

1. Dike-New Hartford
2. Van Meter
3. Bellevue
4. West Sioux
5. South Central Calhoun
6. West Branch
7. Mediapolis
8. West Lyon
9. Pella Christian
10. I-35, Truro

Others receiving votes: Wilton, Sumner-Fredericksburg, Regina Iowa City, Treynor, Osage, Cascade, South Hamilton

No change whatsoever with the top 8. Sumner-Fred drops out of the rankings after suffering their first loss of the season to Osage. SF has had an easy schedule before playing a quality Osage team last night. Osage now controls their own destiny and will need to beat AP to win their district. SCC gets their first test season in a 14-8 win at South Hamilton. Their level of competition hadn’t been the greatest either until last night. I-35 gets into the rankings with their dominant win over Colfax-Mingo and things seem to be setting up for them to be undefeated heading to that week 9 game at PC for the district title.

Interesting games next week as West Sioux travels to West Lyon to see who will win district 1. Mediapolis will host Wilton as that will decide district 5. Rankings will be impacted next week a bit with these games, as well as two districts being decided in week 7.

What is the deal with regina? Almost lost another one?? Will they get by North Linn next week?

The Wilton/Mediapolis game will be a good one!! Probably the game of the week.

West lyon is not even close to what they have been in the past. probably their worse team in 10+ years. West sioux by 28+.

I don’t see how Regina can continue to get a vote. Injuries or not, they shouldn’t receive a top 10 vote. There’s no asterisk to place on them.

I will console myself with the Regals 6 straight State Championships and 8 consecutive trips to the Championship final.
If they never won another game, they've already accomplished more in program history than other team in the state.
I'll be ok.

I don’t see how Regina can continue to get a vote. Injuries or not, they shouldn’t receive a top 10 vote. There’s no asterisk to place on them.

Kinda depends on how you view the purpose of polls. If it's just a reflection of their pay so far, the absolutely, there's no statistical reason for them to be in the conversation. If you're trying to predict the eventual outcome then anyone's wild guess is as good as the next. The Regals have played some quality football, yes, had some injuries and yes, made plenty of mistakes, but I don't think they're out of the running yet. I'm not predicting championships or anything, but I expect they will be in the conversation.

If I was voting in a poll, I'd have a hard time justifying a vote, but my gut says there's more to come.
