Week 7 Games

Here are some games to keep an eye on in week 7. Districts are shaping up a bit and there’s a few of them still a little cloudy as to who will emerge on top.

District 1:

West Lyon @ West Sioux

District 3:

Lake Mills @ Aplington-Parkersburg

Sumner-Fred @ Denver

District 5:

Mediapolis @ Wilton

District 6:

North Linn @ Regina

District 8:

Van Meter @ Panorama

*The first RPI rankings are supposed to come out tomorrow. Any predictions on the top 16? Any other games of note for week 7?

Huge game in district 1 as West Sioux looks to bounce back after the tough loss to Western. West Lyon won’t feel sorry for them as they’ve been rolling through 6 weeks of the season.

Panorama might hang around for a bit but VM will be too much and Panorama won’t create enough offense. However, they should have just one loss and pick up an at-large spot for the playoffs.

I’m not sure who’s going to win district 3. Osage is undefeated in district play and in the drivers seat.

North Linn is trying to keep their playoff chances alive and keep up in the RPI with a win at Regina. The Regals have their sights set on week 9 at DNH but need to take care of weeks 7 and 8 first.

Mediapolis is keeping their on the SK game but Wilton could provide a stern test. Briar Johnson back? He’s a difference maker.

The other game of interest is North Lin @ Regina. Can North Linn pull a “Western Christian” upset on the regals home field? Hopefully Regina is not looking too far down the road to their big showdown with Dike. I don’t know much about these 2 teams - what’s the scoop on this matchup (cidhawkeye or Pinehawk)?

Regina has a bit too much talent for the Lynx. Cook will have a pretty solid game. Regals win by 17+

Is Regina's run game good enough if the weather is a factor?

It's been getting better each week it seems. They've got two backs to choose from and Cook runs well also. I imagine they will still spread it out though and stay pretty balanced if at all possible. If drives stall out, they've got a great FG kicker that can keep putting points on the board.
