Class A fan, what's your issue with the Warriors? They have a weak schedule yes, but the only thing you can do is beat those teams soundly, they have done that to this point. What will it take for you to take notice?

Colo-Nesco is an unknown until they play DB and HLV. Then it will be clear who they are.

I take it that Colo-Nesco are the Warriors? I kinda look and compare if possible to N-K because that is who I am familiar with. They got my attention week 1 with the score they put on Clarksville. I thought Clarksville was at least average. Then N-K played them and seen that they could have hung 100 on them fairly easy. Then Colo had a fairly close game with Meskwaki. N-K played Meskwaki week one. N-K won 57-12 but one of those TD's was last play against deep reserves. N-K also played a lot of the second string mixed in with first teamers in the first half. So my thinking is N-K is as good or better than Colo with those comparisons. Also N-K has a win over West Bend. They also played GT much tougher than the 2 touchdown difference might show. People don't have N-K ranked so why should Colo be. As for Central Elkader, that whole district is just poor in comparison to the others.

I was referring to the Warriors of Central, Elkader. Colo-Nesco is the Royals. Last years weak district 4 slate didn't hamper the Warriors until they reached the quartefinals when they played HLV and also had injuries that affected the result of the game. They had 4th and goal with 13 secs left in that game, so they were as close as you can get to the dome, despite playing in a weak district.

I wouldn't say a real weak district as midland has shown they can compete with the best in Don Bosco and HLV beating Don Bosco in an unofficial game 8-6 and losing to HLV by 12 in final minutes

Midland has not beaten Don Bosco in any game ever. Yes they had a lead at the half, but they were getting their butts whipped. Aside from the one play where Bosco's defense broke down, they had gained a whopping 5 -10 yds of total offense. Midland coaches have shown no desire to finish the contest, I'm sure because of the writing that was on the wall. Because of their lack of will to compete, it is in the books as a no contest, not an " unofficial game" they won. If they want the win they will have to play it out. In the "official" game of football the only lead of the game that matters is the one that happens at the end of the 4th qtr. A quarter Don Bosco has lead all but twice in the past 3+ seasons. Several wins coming after having trailed at the end of 1st or 2nd qtr.

Midland has no time to finish that game, as they have a full schedule of 10 games this season. As for getting their buts whipped?? You and I must've been watching a totally different game, Don Bosco had poor coverage down field and outside run defense. They did have a stout line and interior play I will give Bosco that.

I think the biggest take away from that night is that Don Bosco isn't quite the dominating force that they have been in the past. This version of the Don's doesn't seem to have a (Jake Hogan or Mason Svoboda) type athlete that can take over a game with their athletic prowess. They could still get it done but it will take a complete team effort that can't possibly be at the same level it has been in years past. Whether the 8-6 halftime score is a final or not, that doesn't change the fact that in years past, this years Midland team probably wouldn't have been within 30 points of DB at half. Thus, Midland is improved, which I have seen first hand this year and the mighty Don's have taken a few steps back. That doesn't change their ability to win games and go deep in the playoffs and possibly still beat HLV this season but the dominant fashion of the past 3 or 4 seasons is certainly not the same.

Time will tell, they have 2 games left against average or better opponents (HLV/Colo). How dominant they are against those 2 teams will give us a better idea of how good they are.

Midland on the other hand, plays against Central, Elkader this week. This is a test for them that will help decide the district 4 1st place team and also give us all a little comparison between Don Bosco, Elkader and Midland. If the Warriors come out and get up big on Midland, then the conversation between Central and Don Bosco can begin.

I think it is clear that the teams competing to get to the dome in NE Iowa are District 3-Janesville and NK but it will be tough for NK without Yezek to get too or past the quarterfinals depending on their matchup. In District 4 Elkader seems to be the only real contender for anything past the quarterfinals. In District 5 it will be HLV and Don Bosco. I think with proximity and the teams left when we get to the QFinals, it will be a rematch between HLV and Bosco and Janesville will play Elkader. Only way that doesn't happen is if Bosco or Janesville get pulled to the west similar to NF having to travel over to Bosco last year.

Gonna be fun to see who takes care of business and gets there.

Colo I will agree is not a top 10 team. Are they a good team? Yes..no doubt...but they will more than likely get blasted by both Don Bosco and HLV. They are just not on that level yet in my eyes. As far is it goes with Elkader...we will not know until playoff time with them yet again this year. I think last year they surprised a lot of us by how close they really were to beating HLV and making a run to the dome so I wouldn't exactly throw them under the bus just yet until it gets to the point of them losing to someone unexpectedly or in the playoffs by a wide margin where a bunch of people will come out of the woodwork with the "I told you so" statements.

How about we let last year's reputation go and look forward to the end of the year! Let's hope they meet up in the post season an put an end to all this hype! Good luck to the dons the rest of this season!

Great call ! Just trying to stir the pot a little. Have some some fun on here and get things going a bit. Good luck to all and pray they stay healthy and get to enjoy the season !

Lot's of logic and common sense in those last few posts. I like it. Friday will be a good night to clear some views on a few teams.

Midland at Elkader-How dominant is Elkader? What will the game tell us about that Midland/Don Bosco game that technically didn't happen?
Riceville at NK-Will NK run the ball on the big Riceville boys? TV obviously struggled.
TV at Springville-Can Springville beat TV and stay in contention for the 3 or possibly 2 seed? How good are Blazek and Hackman?
CR-B @ GTRA Should be a good game overall. CR-B got the horses on Def to slow down Girres?
FM @ EM-Good rivalry game. Is FM really a top 3 team? Their dominance in this one may tell us.
HLP @WBM-Is HLP a legot contender in the dist? IS WBM's QB back and if so, are they finally becoming what people thought before the season started that they would be?

Should be some fun scoreboard watching at the end of the night. Good luck everyone!
I know Central vs Midland is on KCTN Radio. Any other games on the radio?
