The first week of district play is less than a week away. What are some intriguing games to keep off the district slate? Here are three IMO that have interest and mostly because they’re all 4-0 teams.
District 6
North Linn @ DNH: We will see if the Lynx are for real and if their record indicates just how good they are. They will need the utmost focus and a perfect game against DNH. DNH protects home field and remains undefeated.
District 8
ACGC @ Van Meter: It’s been a very nice start to the season for ACGC and they have some nice talent, but they will have their toughest test all season in their district opener as they travel to VM. The two headed monster of Potthoff and Abrahamson is one of the better ones in the state and very tough to stop. I don’t see that changing in this game as VM shows it’s teeth and rolls at home.
Panorama @ Clarinda: Another district 8 game featuring undefeated teams. Panorama has two shutouts to their credit in the early part of the season. They scored a nice win over I35 two weeks ago and downed CD last night to remain perfect. After three comfortable wins to begin the season, Clarinda escaped Southwest Valley with a 9-7 win. They have a decent qb/rb combination working for them and will need that against a tough Panorama team. I’ll give the Panthers the edge on the road. Defense and timely plays secures the win.
It’s also worth noting that Mount Ayr, who is also in district 8, is undefeated on the season. Five teams are perfect, but only 3 will remain that way in less than a week. VM will take the district, but the others will be fighting for an at-large.
