Solon and Pella's SOS is about to go down a fair amount as they both had a front loaded schedule, for the most part.

No, just commenting that their overall rating may come down some as they have less strong opponents. Of course, the part of computer rankings that is certainly not "fair" is that if you don't beat a weak opponent by 60 points, you get dinged by the computer. They both played the majority of their tougher opponents first, so their overall scores may come down some due to the strength of future opponents. That's all.

I think Solon has shown that they are the top 3A team this year. They have to be a favorite to get to the dome. In fact, I would say that Xavier, Solon, DCG, and SBL might be the favorites at this point from the four quadrants to make it to the dome.

Not sure I would count out WSR in place of Xavier, that one should be decided soon. DCG vs Webster City will be a good game this week, Along with WSR vs Decorah.

Front loaded or not, thise first games count just as much as the last ones.

As long as they continue winning, its a moot point.

Agreed. WSR is looking very solid. Defense looks good and offense is scoring quite a bit of points. I’m still not high on Xavier, but coaching goes a long way when running their offense and defense, so I expect them to compete every game with a chance to win. Only issue I see with Xavier is facing Solon’s defense. It’s seemingly impossible to run the football on them and that is what Xavier will live and die by.

If the postseason goes as last year, then Solon and Pella would meet up to get to the dome. Of course, this year could be different. Xavier will need to deal with WD, WSR, and/or Decorah to get there.

I would like to see a Harlan -DCG matchup. That would be a quality game. DCG is big and very physical. I think Webster City will have a very hard time with that defense this week. I could see DCG winning comfortably.

I’m curious to see if Pella could go West in the postseason, especially if D3 qualifies 3 teams. I’m guessing some east side teams would savor the opportunity to play the Dutch again though.

If they happen Solon and DCG will win these 2 matchups. The Solon and DCG defenses will give both Pella and Harlan fits.
