Top 10 teams according to iowa preps and how they faired and my thoughts on it
1. West Hancock (although not ranked on Iowa preps I believe it was a simple oversight)
destroyed an above average team. This team may very well steam roll there way to a state title
2. Saint Ansger- beat and awful team. Only thing to note is they beat them by 20 more then edco did who is another top 5 team
3. Highland- got a solid win over a mediocre lynville sully team. Haven’t seen them play the past 2 years so don’t know much about them
4. Wapsie- shocked they lost this game. North Tama must be much better then I had originally thought. Wapsie has a ton of speed and good skill players so North Tama must have been able to match that
5. North Tama- now I’m drivers seat in toughest district In class A. Should be number 1 seed in there quadrant and looking for a run to the dome this year
6. Edgewood Colesburg- beat a solid east bucc team by a lot. Have a ton of speed at skill positions and are well coached. Only question mark for them is if there line can match up with some of the bigger teams in the state
7. Grundy Center- beat a pretty bad team easily. Nothing really to note here unless someone who was at the game has anything to say about it.
8. BGM- I think they are underrated. Have dominated there opponents the past 3 weeks. Very similar to edco. I believe these two will both be 9-0 or 8-1 by years end and in each other’s quadrants as top seeds
9. Bishop garrigan- beat a good lake mills team by 2 touchdowns. Seem to have a great defense but lack luster offense. Should be interesting to see how they fair against West Hancock
10. South OBrien- another team I believe is underrated. They beat a very good alta aurilia team tonight. Don’t be shocked to see this team sitting 9-0 with one of the top RPI’s by years end
all of these are based off scores. I have seen 8 of these teams play in the past 2 years so I somewhat have an idea as to what they are.
