I know some are tired of the WB-Regina stuff but I have a question. I was out of the area for awhile, what is the overall record between the two schools? Scores? I know when I was in school we had no issue with WB like there seems to be now. When did the change occur?

when Regina joined the EIH in 1986-87 is when it all started... WL basketball coach resigned for 1 year in protest to EIH letting RHS in. On a side note this gave current West High Basketball Coach the ability to move back to IC area & he coached @ WL for 1 year before moving to West.

sorry Cid. don't know the head to head records.

Long time reader here , very limited poster. Just like to keep tabs of WB football as I grew up and there and since have moved out of state.

As to the overall record between the 2 I have no clue. But I have been out of school for Sometime now and Regina has never dominated WB in football like they have the last 6-7 years. Before 2007 or 2008 Dating back to the 90s WB usually took care of Regina most of the time. I know this as I was there and played.Mid 2000s Regina started its rise, 2003ish I know Regina was good but never played WB. If Regina would have took care of business in the playoffs they would have met WB who I was very good and lost in the Semis to i believe ENP? Who would go on to be state champs. Anyways this should be a good game will be listening to bear cast

What was the protest? Any help on the records? Pine? Blame(??), WB? Bueller?
From what I understood. Nobody wanted Regina in the conference. Regina needed a conference and wanted in. Regina got the state to force them into the conference. Anger ensues, Protest happen

I went back through the scores available on BC Moore's website and these were the only head to head scores that were available:

1988- WB 32, Regina 6
1991- WB 59, Regina 18
1993- WB 53, Regina 0
1998- WB 26, Regina 6
1999- WB 3, Regina 23
2000- WB 24, Regina 16
2001- WB 7, Regina 21
2004- WB 16, Regina 13
2004 Playoffs- WB 7, Regina 23
2005- WB 13, Regina 10
2005 Playoffs- WB 0, Regina 21
2006- WB 21, Regina 28
2007- WB 7, Regina 41
2012- WB 13, Regina 15
2012 Playoffs- WB 9, Regina 27
2015 Playoffs- To be determined...tonight.

All knotted up at 8 wins each, if I counted right. Obviously, winner goes ahead tonight - add yet another item to the list for tonight.

Great game between Regina and West Branch.

WB had a great chance to win. Too many mistakes though. Turnovers and inability to get off the field on third-down just killed them tonight.

Two pretty even teams...difference was the OL of Regina. So well coached. Like someone else said, WB couldn't stop them on 3rd and long running plays a few times in the first half. That should tell you all you need to know.

WB had a chance with 7:00 left game tied but fumbled on their own 40. Regina punched it in with 2:30 left. WB's next drive was killed by an intentional grounding penalty and that was all she wrote.

Tired of seeing those damn Regals win :) but like Pedro Martinez said...all you can do is tip your cap and call them your daddy.

Great game tonight.

So did the dislike start because Regina forced their way into the conference or did it happen when Regina started to win in the series?

Neither. It was the comments from some of their coaches in the various sports saying they would dominate.

Then we saw their football team and laughed.

But that was then and this is now. Just goes to show what a great coach does for a team.

Which coaches said that? Miller, Evans and Cook has been a pretty decent run.

Now, all of that aside.

The Bears were driving in the 4th quarter with the score tied and fumbled away a chance for a go-ahead score and Regina capitalized. That's what the best teams do: capitalize when opponents falter.

I wish the Regals all the best going forward.
