It was the worst matchup in 3A; really sad such a great team had to lose. I think next year Waverly will make a run at the state title with Pfyfe, Stenslund and Velky and crew..

How did they get hosed? Who should they have been paired with? Perry?

Hosed? That's a bit of a stretch. Are they one of the top 8 teams in state? Quite possibly....but did their substate pairing keep them from winning the state title? Absolutely not.

Let's remember that WSR is the same team that was down 8-9 to Crestwood at halftime last week.

Saw at the end of the game there was a little incident with one of the Wahlert players and a Waverly player. Seemed like it carried over to the handshake line. Appeared like Waverly coach and Wahlert kid had a little animated discussion. I couldn't see what was all going on. Anyone know what happened?
