I'm still a little sleepy after a late night in Council Bluffs where Lewis Central's QB Austin Simmons put on one the best performances I've ever seen from a high school QB. When he wasn't scrambling for time and finding receivers open down field, he was escaping the pocket and picking up big yards. Time and time again, Johnston had him in the backfield where he promptly would escape and pick up yardage. He also made two big time throws under heavy pressure for TD's to bring Lewis Central back for the win.
All in all...a great high school football game and South Dakota has got a good one in Simmons. Also, props to Lewis Central's band for coming over and playing our fight song before the game. Never seen that before and thought it was pretty cool.
