Uni Dome Field Question

Just wondering why for the games at the UNI Dome they run the field the way they do. Looks very confusing. I do know though that playing a game on an 80 yard field on a 100 yard field is a tad confusing. I have another way to do it(and have seen it) but will post that later

My guess is because they only have one portable goal post. They use the regular end zone and goal post on the south end, but that means they have to pull out a portable goal post for the north end zone.

My only wish is that they would buy some sort of 3' rubber roll out to put along the sidelines. Pretty hard to tell where out of bounds is at with yellow tape.

The solution that I have seen was as follows as MN used it when our 9 man semis and finals were played at the MetroDome. The 80 yard field was played between the 10 yard lines with the yellow lines serving as the sidelines. There were yellow marks on the field that served as hashmarks. When a team scored a TD or wished to try a FG the ball was moved up 10 yards to the 11 man 3 yard line (for the PAT) or the coresponding 11 man yard line. This seemed to work OK but in 1999 MN moved to using the regulation length 100 yard field for 9 man but it is still 40 yards wide. When watching the Michigan 8 man title game this year they used the regulation field as states can designate that as official.
