A lot of talk about Borchers on here during the state tournament. Apparently, USD got involved after the tournament and Borchers was able to get out of his Morningside commitment. Hard to pass up a D1 offer. Good opportunity for him.

Sounds like he won't have a scholarship his first year, but will have a chance to earn one. I guess the school and Tyler are both taking a chance which is good. I am guessing they will want him to work on his perimeter game more. He is a good kid and a very hard worker, he will make the most of it. I'm a little bummed he won't be playing with my nephew at Morningside, but this is too good to pass up.

Is there any promise of an offer or it just depends on how he plays?

Remember, if an athlete signs with an NAIA school (ie: Morningside, Briar Cliff, etc), it doesn't mean a thing to NCAA rules. They can sign an NAIA letter and it can't stop them from signing scholarship players at an NCAA school.
