It's not a shocker though... Assumption is 0-7 and was just beat by Dav Central 80-44 the other night. They are on a down year this year and likely won't be really competitive for another year or two. The senior class and junior class don't offer a lot. They have some good shooters but both of the guys who are good shooters are pretty lazy on the defensive end of the floor. The program strength is in the freshman and sophomore classes, but the program lacks post players in general right now. They have 2 sophomores playing/starting varsity. They have multiple freshman playing up to sophomores. Some of the kids playing sophomores played varsity during summer leagues, which included a freshman as well. They are hurting for post play especially after a 6'4-6'5 freshman from last year transferred to Davenport North this summer and has improved tremendously to the point he may become a varsity player for North as some point this season. They also had one of the best freshman on the team from last year, who played sophomores, not go out for basketball and focus on football instead.

Agree with maxstabs. Assumption is 0-7, while Xavier might be an upper-tier MVC team this year, with a good chance of going to the 3A state tourney.
