toughest pod

Last couple days I have had some great conversations about this year's playoffs and now have some questions I will post as we move forward the next couple weeks. I follow the fortunes of various teams from A to 3A so I will put this first one out to all the forums. What playoff pod is the most stacked in your class? Could be traditional powers locking horns, new teams that are making noise etc. Just curious as we get ready for the round of 16.

POD A:
Estherville Lincoln Central at Central Lyon/George Little Rock
West Lyon, Inwood at Spirit Lake

POD B:
Atlantic at West Marshall, State Center
Greene County at PCM, Monroe

POD C:
Tipton at Camanche
West Liberty at Williamsburg

POD D:
Monticello at Waukon
Independence at Solon

I figured I would copy over the pods for those to reference. I think Pod A has the most depth with 4 very high quality teams. I think CLGLR/West Lyon are both capable of winning the state title. Pod D is also very solid with both Waukon and Solon. Both teams have been very consistent over the past several years and both could make a run in the UNI dome.

2A is full of really good teams this year, so much so that I don't think you can pick a clear cut favorite at this point.

All 4 teams in Pod A are capable of beating each other on any given day. So I'd go Pod A for toughest pod. Not much more to elaborate on except both games tonight will be worth the price of admission.

Pod D is pretty tough Waukon and Solon seem to be the favorites in that pod. Monticello and Independence don't really have a good win on their schedule. Remember all the talk at the beginning of the year about how Solon had fallen off with the new coach and what was going on with them. Yeah I don't either anymore. Waukon has played a decent schedule that close loss to Decorah doesn't look so bad after the season Decorah has put together. Two good football teams should be a good game if it happens in the next round.

Camanche is kind of my dark horse team in 2A they're ranked in the top 10 so tough to say they are flying under the radar but I don't see a lot of people talking about them. They have some nice wins against 3 teams that are still playing. I don't think there is another team still playing that can say that. I've been able to find a couple of their games and they look like a damn good football team. Tiptons got some losses on their record that make me question how good they are but they seem like they are kind of hitting their stride right now. Williamsburg just keeps beating everyone in front of them. Solon is clearly the best win on their schedule and they handled the 2 toughest teams in their district. I think them and Camanche will be a really good football game. Hope it happens.

Pod B runs into a SOS issue. PCM is good though, really good. Be nice to see them play someone tough to see just how good though. Will the winner of Atlantic and West Marshall be able to give them a game? Idk well see.

Tonight's the night that the cream will start to rise to the top though. Looks like a decent night for playoff football. I'm thankful to live in a state where they are allowing these teams to prove it on the field this year.
