The State of Iowa needs a shot clock

Its a white flag.

Also, if a guy is fouled rebounding at one end, do we really need FTs at the other end? Eliminate that as well.

Full disclosure, I was pulling for WDM Valley to win.

However, I completely agree a shot clock is needed. In essence, a jump ball determined who had the best shot of winning, and that shouldn't be the case.

A shot clock would also get rid of the 3-4 minute stall and foul-fest when one team gets up about 10 on another. You basically know which team will win around the 3 minute mark of each game.

I think stopping the clock after a made basket inside of 1 minute like the college ranks is a great idea. It wouldn't cost any more or additional resources to make it happen.

The shot clock would be great because I hate the stall tactic, but unfortunately it's doubtful we see it happen. Cost is one concern, but overall it.....if the coaches and AD's at the schools would propose it and get majority approval....it could happen.

I wouldn't call it "cowardly." It's stretegic. I agree, the state needs a shot clock, but don't blame a team for taking advantage of the rule. While we're at it, change the rules to where a basket in the last two minutes stops the clock.

It hurts our brand of basketball as well. Let the players make plays. Let them showcase themselves on the biggest stage in Iowa.

Not cowardly. But we do need a shot clock. I'd also be fine if the clock stopped after makes under 2 minutes a the end of each period, but a shot clock is more important.
