here's some information I researched at educateiowa.gov and kind of confirmed what I had thought. It is the percent proficient (11th grade) in math and reading and then averaged out between the two of them for each 4A district.
Linn-Mar 94.1
Pleasant Valley 92.9
Waukee 92.1
Ankeny 91.9
Cedar Falls 91
Indianola 90.7
Johnston 88.6
Ames 88.6
West Des Moines 87.9
North Scott 87.7
SE Polk 84.6
Lewis Central 84.1
Bettendorf 83.8
Iowa City 83.5
Urbandale 82.4
Dubuque 81.3
Cedar Rapids 79.8
Sioux City 78.5
Clinton 77.7
Mason City 76.9
Marshalltown 74.6
Ottumwa 72.8
Burlington 72.4
Fort Dodge 71.9
Waterloo 70.6
Davenport 69.9
Council Bluffs 66.7
Des Moines 64.4
that said there are some caveats:
- This is only 11th grade and the scores vary from grade to grade in each district, sometimes by a lot.
- most of the imbeciles in high school have already quit by 11th grade
- means less in districts with more than one high school (like I've heard Iowa City West has the highest ACT scores in the state)
