North Scott offensive tackle Jackson Stoefen
What happened with the situation at Kansas?
“Things just fell through and the staff is headed in a different direction.”
How frustrated is that to happen after having committed?
“It’s not just frustrating, but heart breaking. I was going to graduate early as well so I feel pretty lost at the moment.”
How is your knee and your health at this point?
“It’s great. I’ve been out seven weeks and I will start running on an anti-gravity treadmill and under water treadmill this week. Everything is pretty much ahead of schedule and I will be back for spring ball. I am also on track to graduate early.”
Is the plan still to graduate early?
“As of right now, I do not know, but I do want college programs to know that if they want me to, that I will.”
How did your senior season go with what you were able to do?
“It went really well actually. I felt as though I progressed in my pass set and run blocking because of the weight and work I was able to put in during the winter. In the first two games I was dominating people and it felt awesome to finally feel like I could play at a high level.”
Had recruiting dropped off after you committed or had schools still been in contact?
“It dropped off a little, but some schools still remained in contact.”
What schools have still remained in touch?
“Indiana, Toledo, Arkansas State, and Colorado.”
What other colleges are you hoping to hear from?
“I am hoping to get back to recruiting with Iowa, Colorado, Indiana, possibly Iowa State, possibly K-State, and Virginia Tech.”
Do you know if any of the schools currently have offers on the table or is that something you will be working to figure out?
“South Dakota State is giving me a call later this week, but other than that the closest offer would probably be Colorado State. I will be figuring it out as I go.”
What are you seeking most in your future school?
“For a place who wants me, is going to get me a degree that is meaningful and will allow the possibility of going to the NFL.”
In terms of being a sought-after college recruit, what have you done that is different compared to your peers?
“I feel as though I have put in the work to be where I am today. I have meal planned and lifted to gain weight, and I worked tirelessly in the off-season with top ranked guys to improve my pass pro. To me, it’s just doing the little things to set myself apart from everyone else.”
