This week's recruiting updates: Will Ontiveros, Cooper Puls, Burke Prins,
Landers Kuboushek, Tatum Koenig, Shammond Ivory, Tyler Zumbach, Brady Johnson,
Austin Roth, Carter Kilfoy, and Collin Hill.


Davenport Assumption wide receiver Will Ontiveros

Camps
“I think I am going to camps at Cornell, Fordham, and I might go to
Iowa State.”

Recruiting
“It has just been emails from schools like
Fordham, Columbia, Cornell, Bucknell, Yale, and Georgetown>”

The
importance of academics
“That is the most important thing right now. I want
to be able to go to good academic institution while being able to play
football.”

A favorite growing up
“Iowa probably. I’m a Hawkeye fan.”


BGM lineman Cooper Puls

Camps
“As a team we are going to the Iowa State bigman challenge. We are
looking at a few more with maybe Iowa and another one at Iowa State.”


Recruiting
“I got one from Northern Arizona University and filled that out
for them.”

Visits
“I went up to Upper Iowa and looked at their
facilities.”

The Upper Iowa visit
“That was really good. I liked their
campus a lot.”

A favorite college growing up
“I’ve always loved
watching the Hawkeyes.”


Hinton defensive end Burke Prins

Camps
“I plan on going to Iowa, Iowa State, North Dakota State, and South
Dakota State.”

Junior day invites
“So far they have come from SDSU,
Drake, and UNI invited me as well.”

“I thought it
went really well. It is a good school and I really liked all of their
facilities.”

Recruiting the hardest
“Mainly it is the schools that I
have gotten junior day invites from.”

A favorite
“No, I don’t really
have a favorite. I am just keeping my options open.”


South Winneshiek lineman Landers Kuboushek

A college sport
“I get that question a lot but it is hard to compare them
for so many different reasons. I wouldn’t be opposed to playing either if it
wouldn’t get in the way of my studies. If there was a scholarship available, it
would be something I would pursue.”

Recruiting
“There is not a whole
lot yet. I still haven't looked at colleges a whole lot.”

college growing up
“The main college I have followed is Iowa State.”

What colleges have you been hearing from?
"Drake, UNI, Iowa, Wichita
State, Missouri, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Western Illinois, Army,
and Kansas."

"Being so
close to Iowa City, I have always been an Iowa Hawkeye fan."

“It has been Drake, South Dakota State, and a little bit from
UNI.”

“No, I haven't done anything.”

“I am planning to make it to Drake within the next few weeks.”

Anamosa forward Tyler Zumbach

Recruiting
“There has been some letters from Division II and III colleges.
My coach has been in contact with UNI, Drake, and Iowa State to help me get on
their radar. It is nothing big yet though.”

“It has been Upper Iowa, South Dakota Mining School, Wartburg, Loras, and Coe
College. There has also been football interest from Iowa State and North Dakota
State.”

“My first love is definitely
basketball.”


Stanton forward Brady Johnson

Camps
“Morningside has sent me something about going to one of their
camps. There has also been something from Grand View and Iowa Western.”

“It has been Grandview, Morningside, UNI, and Winona.”

“I went to Central last year.”

Visits coming up
“I’m going
to UNI here pretty soon and hopefully down to Morningside also.”

“Central is up there because my family has gone there and my
dad set many records as a receiver.”


Hudson forward Austin Roth

Recruiting
“I get calls from Luther and have had camp invites from Luther,
Coe, and Wartburg. I talked to a Wartburg coach.”

Visits
“No, not yet.
I plan on visiting Warburg and Coe but am not dead set on anything yet.”

Davenport Assumption athlete Carter Kilfoy

College camps
“I think I’m going to go to that UNI camp. I went to that
last year and I’ll be going back to that and some other camps.”

“Right now I am not really sure.”

“I have had one
letters this past week from Buena Vista College. That was my first letter.”


A favorite college growing up
“My cousin plays at UNI so I’ve been to
their games a lot. That’d be cool to go there but I am just open.”

“I’m more of a football guy. Wrestling is a side sport.
It is fun but I’m a football player.”


South Hamilton forward Collin Hill

Recruiting
“Drake and UNI have been the two. I visited both of them and
they went really good. UNI said that they’ll be watching me these upcoming
months so those are my top two right now.”

Recruiting the hardest
“At
first I thought Drake was but after visiting UNI, they showed me a lot of
interest. We’ll see in the months ahead.”
