This week's recruiting updates: Justin Hunter, Victor Jergens, Dylon Storey,
Matt Goodman, William Warner, Trey Tucker, Timothy Doering, Billy Brown, Caleb
Shudak, Nic Young, and Daric Laing.


Spirit Lake forward Billy Brown

Recruiting
“I heard from SDSU, USD, Drake, and I have gotten letters from
schools like the University of Albany, and Missouri State sent a few. Augustana
and Minnesota State have been talking to my coach.”

Visits

SDSU have talked to my coach and they want me to come on a visit soon.”

“I think they are pretty much even right now. It has
been letters and me talking with their coaches.”

“I really just liked watching everyone play basketball.”


Lewis Central kicker Caleb Shudak

Recruiting
“I have had interest from smaller schools in the area. There
has also been Iowa, Iowa State, and Nebraska.”

Visits
“I went to an
Iowa State game and a Nebraska game during the season.”

The trips

“They were very nice. The facilities at both schools were impressive. The trips
were enjoyable.”

Future visits
“Not that I can have off the top of my
head.”

Recruiting the hardest
“Not really. I just have schools that
are telling me to come to camp. That is what the staff at Nebraska has said.”


A favorite college growing up
“It is Iowa State because my dad kicked
there. It would be cool to kick there.”

The family connection at Iowa

“I think it has had a positive impact on my kicking. He knows what I
need to do to get better and he went through the ups and downs during his
career.”


Webster City defensive end Victor Jergens

Recruiting
“There has been stuff from Iowa State, stuff from Central, and
there was one from a school in South Dakota. It’d be awesome to get more because
you can never have enough of that.”

Visits
“I haven't really had our
time or a school to visit but I would to do that.”

A favorite college

“I guess I’d have to pick the schools my dad follows. He went to Iowa State and
likes Notre Dame a lot. We are a season ticket holder at Iowa State so I’ve
grown up watching them.”

Recruiting the hardest
“It is pretty even.
Nothing is crazy so it has been even. Towards the end of football, I was getting
a lot of letters from Iowa State about how they like their recruits to come
in-state.”


Pella wide receiver William Warner

Recruiting
“I’ve kind of been looking around but there has not been too
much. Iowa has sent me some stuff and that is about it now.”

Visits

“Nope.”

“I have kind of always been an Iowa fan because I
have had cousins and grandpa who played there.”


Chariton guard Daric Laing

Recruiting
“It has been Morningside, Nebraska-Omaha, Drake, and the
University of Sioux Falls.”

Visits
“I haven't but I think the Drake
coaches came to one of my games. I talked to the Nebraska-Omaha coaches over the
phone.”

A favorite
“Not at this point. Hopefully this summer I can
having a better idea but at this point it is a big blur.”


Bondurant-Farrar guard Dylon Storey

A favorite sport
“Probably basketball. I like football too but basketball
would be the way to go at the college level.”

“I
haven't really started looking around. I just got some letters from different
schools.”

Vista, and some other colleges.”

“I would think football but or sports I will look into
whatever opportunities come up.”

“I’ve had a
little interest from Iowa State. I got a couple of game invites and a
questionnaire.”

“I’ve been to a couple of games (at
Iowa State).”

“They were good. I went to
the Kansas State game earlier in the year. It was a tough loss but they looked
pretty good.”

A favorite college growing up
“I live in Iowa City so
obviously I root for the Hawkeyes but that doesn’t really play a part in what
school I want to pick.”

“No, not really.”


Crestwood center Matt Goodman

A college sport
“I enjoy basketball the most. I have the most fun with
basketball but I’d say football and basketball are my favorites.”


Recruiting
“I haven't really had any interest from coaches at least.”


Wanting to play college sports
“Yeah, that is my goal right now. I would love
to play college basketball. That is my goal.”

A favorite college growing
up
“When I was young, I followed the Iowa Hawkeyes and the UNI Panthers.
Those are my two favorite schools.”


Norwalk forward Michael Geistler

Recruiting
“I have gotten letters from Morningside, Wartburg, the
University of Sioux Falls, William Penn, and maybe one other one.”

“Not yet.”

“I don’t have any plans.”

“I guess nothing in-particular but I am an Iowa State fan.”


Ottumwa guard Nic Young

Recruiting
“There have been a lot of colleges in Iowa and one in Minnesota
like Coe, Loras, Wartburg, Central, Iowa Wesleyan, and St. Mary’s in Minnesota.”


Visits
“I have visited Coe, Loras, and St. Mary’s. I just went to a game
at Central vs. Coe. Over the summer, we went to Iowa Wesleyan for a team camp
and saw that.”

A favorite visit
“I really like Coe and Loras with
their all around schools, facilities, and academics. I’ve gotten a full tour at
both places and those are really nice places.”

“At this
point, Coe and Loras are tied for first right up there. I have a tough time
picking one or the other right now.”

“I have had just one letters from Luther College.”

“The University of South Dakota sent me a questionnaire.
