The #1 and #2 teams in the state are eastern Iowa teams but which sides ends up winning the title, east or west?

money says west (since its long overdue that the state champion goes undefeated) but could easily go east. Remember the east half went 12-0 from 1985-96

Dowling and Valley have been so dominant most of the recent years (and Ankeny when they were still together) I'm not convinced about Washington yet...they look very good but so often seem to rack up impressive regular season wins before faltering in the playoffs.

West - interesting article in the DSM Register today which opens the door for the IHSAA to seed the finals to create the first (?) "all-west" final, (they won't, but love how they dangle that out there to get folks worked up!)

I would guess that I'm in the majority, I think the state should have been setting up crossover games in the semifinals in the past.

Wash hasn't had a team this deep since Adrian Arrington's senior year. They may have more D1 talent on this years team. For your argument though, the 03 Wash squad that finished runner-up was the best team not to win one, imo.

FYI
Not to bring up old stuff but Ankeny needed a bad spot from a 70 year old to win 2 years ago.
I don't have a dog in the race but just sayin....
