My Father in law passed away yesterday so I’ll be tied up with arrangements…. A good API man so have to give him a proper send off. … But I’ll be back to continue the fight in a few days.

He was truly one of the greatest generation. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting him and sitting with him, you and your son in the President's Suite in Jordan Hare.

Sorry brother, saw this on FB. Not too many SIL/FIL relationships like you two had.
Heaven leaves no holes, it’s the absence of nothing that one desires.
Extraordinary and generous man. A real WWII war hero MASH combat surgeon in the 2nd Marines. He saved 1000s of US lives in the most savage fighting in the Pacific. Greatest of the greatest generation.
Also the most tragic.. he lost his wife to ALS in 93, followed by his daughter ( my wife in 2018) and then his son just last year.
It was a particularly vicious familial mutation of ALS called C9ORF72. It clicks in like clockwork about 60 yo. Basically a two year death sentence.
I “adopted” him and declared guardianship and managed his financial affairs for him after my wife’s death We’ve been together since.
For that reason we have been very active in fundraising for the ALS foundation who helped both of us through the tough times. They were the real deal.

Not really the premise of the book, but im not here to debate religion.
I got you. It’s not that I don’t believe in a god. That’s honk doing what he does. I just have zero use for organized religion. It’s just men creating fear to be able to control others. And the hypocrisy is off the charts as well. And then there’s the fact that so many wars and a lot of the current fvckedupness of the world is based off it.
