Anyone noticing any stand out young players or varsity teams that may surprise this season? I've seen plenty of 4A teams in the Quad Cities. I know some of the teams are not full force due to kids playing other sports, but I've still seen plenty of talent.

I know the Justin Sharp tournament in Rock Island was won by Waukee. They had some good wins including Bettendorf by 9, North Scott by 1, and Dubuque Senior by 16 in the championship. The bottom side of that tournament seemed to be loaded with the majority of the good teams.

Waukee, North Scott, Bettendorf, Dubuque Senior, and Davenport Central all looked solid for 4A. Camanche was impressive for 2A. They lost in consolation semifinals and beat Davenport West, Clinton Illinois, and had close losses to Alleman and Rock Island Gold. Assumption has a solid showing for 3A also. I didn't see PV, IC High, or Muscatine but I don't think any of them were full strength. I know Davenport North was missing some guys as well.

In the summer league games at St. Ambrose results have been mixed as kids are playing without certain guys due to baseball. From what I've noticed the top seems to be Bettendorf, North Scott, Dav North, Dav Central for the QC. I expect Muscatine in that top group as well. After that I would say PV, Assumption, and Clinton. I think Burlington and Dav West will be in the bottom of the league again.

I think Dewitt is going to have a rough season. Seen them a few times and they don't have many competitive games at the Ambrose summer league, so either it will be a rough season or they are missing some guys.

I thought Fort Madison would return to being, well, typical Fort Madison after graduation losses the last couple years but they've looked very solid at the two tournaments I've seen them in.

Saw Camanche, Center Point Urbana, Clinton, Prince of Peace, Durant this last weekend.

Camanche is going to be a very good team with likely Top 10 team all season. Durant, Prince of Peace, and Center Point Urbana didn't look good at all but I also don't know if they had full teams. Clinton looks like a quick team, but they don't have the offensive threats of years past. I think they will have a down year this season.
