Anyone have any predictions for how the state brackets will come out in their respective classes? I think I have a pretty good idea on 3A....

1. Xavier or Mount Pleasant
2. Mount Pleasant or Xavier
3. Oskaloosa
4. Norwalk or Glenwood
5. Glenwood or Norwalk
6. Sergeant Bluff-Luton
7. Waverly Shell-Rock
8. Marion

What do you guys think? I know 4A substates aren't till tonight. Also, are they doing that stupid bracket show again this year or just releasing them to the public? I kind of liked the stupid bracket show even though I think the consensus is it was a bit of a disaster, and they didn't do it for football.

SBL beats Waverly by double digits head to head. Doesn't probably matter though. Don't think either gets out of the first round at State. SBL will be very good next year. The bulk of this team comes back next year. Very good guards and a very talented big in Daniel Wright. Only a Sophmore, but definitely a name to watch in the future.

The Seeding in 1A is an absolute JOKE. Hopefully the state ends this format of seeding soon, because the coaches have no clue. (though not their fault)

The Boone Boys completely screwed up the State tournament this year. The best day st State has always been Thursday. Thursday was semi-final round for 1a, 2a and 3a. Now it's has consolation games. Love seeing all the small town semi's on one day as a basketball fan.

What would you have done differently? I think they are fair. St. Albert could be a little higher, but still lost 9 games.

Saint Albert lost 9 games to mostly 3A and 4A teams. Their conference consist of the top 3A and 2A teams in the state. Not to mention they play 2 Ranked 4A schools in their city. To argue they lost 9 games and that is the reasoning behind their seeding is laughable. They had the 1st or 2nd toughest schedule hands down. This should play a 33 percent factor if not more. Wins being another share. Then the final make up is a writers union poll. Nothing to do with coaches, who unless they play these teams never travel to watch let alone rank them

They should be happy with their draw since they beat Kuemper twice and GVC lost to Kuemper. CB St A should have no problem beating GV. Just look at it like your the 2 seed and GV is 7th.

1A-North Linn rolls. I know they played mostly a 1A schedule against weak competition but quality is quality and they’ve come to play every night. Loss to G-R last year serves as their motivation to roll to a title.

Why does it really matter? I know it's nice to be a high seed, but these are the 8 teams that made it to the State Tournament for a reason. To be the champion, you have to beat whoever is in front of you, no matter what seed. Best of luck to every team in Des Moines, it should be a fun tournament to watch!
