I was talking with some family who has a summer home at the lakes and they said Spirit Lake has a couple of athletes moving into the district, not sure what positions or names of the individuals. Possibly some new skill positions? Don't be sleeping on Spirit Lake just because they lost a lot of their starters. New athletes + great coaching will make them a scary team in the 2016 season. I'm not from around there but I have many friends and family from the area who only speak greatness about that program. Maybe they'll win the 2016 State Title with Don Bosco?

Don Bosco is consolidating with Spirit Lake? Are they going to petition to stay 8 man? o_O

So what you're saying is they are trying to recruit to contend for another title?

I also heard that they might be 3A because of the unbelievable amount of kids "moving in".

Zach Dykstra (#67 Starting Lineman, Parker Jungjohan (#61 Starting Lineman) both just moved to Spirit Lake last year. Reason for moving? These guys played a huge role in the trenches. Also anyone know why #14 Houston Hawkins was playing baseball for Okoboji this summer and then all of the sudden he's at Spirit Lake playing football? Not to mention Ryan Kreiner (Iowa basketball commit) moving there all the way from New Hampton? Hmmmmmm

This is just what I heard and I am from the other side of the state. Anyone care to inform me on some other athletes they have got/are getting to help build the program? Possibly a class list where the athletes are listed whether they are 3 star, 4 star, or 5 star?

Now Jeffy being the moron he is, is probably making SL sound bad, but still from what I see there appears to be some funny business going on there. Who's knows maybe this is the route to go to the level the playing field with the Catholic schools. ;)

@ tigerpride, actually I'm a huge support of the Spirit Lakes way of playing, I believe people just bash on them because they're jealous. Spirit Lake athletes are winners, their athletics are winners. Honestly I bet the grades are better there compared to the school's around the state. The real question is who wouldn't want to send their kids to a better school? My kids go to a private school where I believe they get a better education compared to the public school in which they possibly could attend. If it's wrong wanting the best for your kids, then you are wrong. I want the best for my kids through everything. Facilties, athletics and most importantly grades. I love my kids and I want the best for them.
Whether Spirit Lake recruits or not, they're winners and most likely you're not from a successful program. Congratulations on the 2015 state title Indians! I got a feeling I'll be seeing them at the dome in 2016.

Oh I don't know my kids have played on 6 straight championship teams, get good grades and this year 49 of the 52 have been there since kindergarten. I guess there are two ways to build a winner. I am good with how it's done here.

Iowa City Regina would of got beat this year by SL, I watched both teams at the dome and there is no way Iowa City's defense could of kept up with SL high powered offense. That program isn't anything special in my opinion.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am sure Regina thanks SL for their contribution to the streak of 6. The one time there was a chance to prove an opinion one team won and one team lost. No opinion needed.

The only opinion I am going to take on the matter is that I think Jeffy probably failed English class...
