With the consolidation of Prairie Valley and SE Webster Grand, does anyone know how the team is looking?
That, I couldn't tell you. I'm not familiar with that part of the state at all; just going off of last year's stats.Originally posted by nwmsbearcat:
Also...and I freely admit I'm not 100% sure on this...but didn't Eslick transfer/open enroll/leave and go to Ogden?
He asked a question, and I gave him the best answer possible with the available information. Hell, I could live in the area and be pretty familiar with most of the teams, and still not have known whether a kid decided to transfer. This is a message board. So lighten up, Francis.Originally posted by ghost80:
TM,
I'll give you a little advise....
With the number of kids moving around I wouldn't make an ASSumption on teams you know nothing about based solely on last year's stats.
That goes double when there is a rural consolidation with the new district covering a massive area. It's not uncommon at all for families in one of these types of consolidations to look at the map and decide to open enroll in a neighboring district because the school can often be much closer than the district they now live in.
Looking at a map I wouldn't be surprised if there were families in the SE corner of the district who decided to hook with Ogden.
The nondistrict matchup with SE could be a tough one. I would expect the Gaels to be looking to give a little satisfaction to their baseball mates.
It's a high school sports message board, not a court of law. So I was wrong. Big freaking deal. Obviously, you were here to post more accurate information than was available to most people here. But it's not like it's ridiculous to think the kid wouldn't move/open enroll to a different district. If we were all limited to discussing teams/players that we know like the backs of our hands, we'd never talk about anything around here. I mean, I guess we can't just assume that Trevor Allen is still playing at Waukee, or that Christian Rozeboom is still at Sioux Center. In this day and age, we just can't know for sure, so best not assume.Originally posted by ghost80:
T M,
If you were taking a test and you applied your logic to a question you did not know the answer and "gave the best answer with the best information available" I would say you made a wise choice. If you're taking a test it is normally because you are required to take it for a class, your job, or some other reason. Normally people don't take tests just for fun.
Using your logic on a high school sport message board was not a wise choice. Their is no reason for you to "chime in" and answer the question when you don't have a clue what you are talking about and even if the statistics available that you think can make you appear to give a knowledgeable answer are even relevant. All you really did was publicly display your ignorance.
Statistics can assist and support a core knowledge you already have. They are however completely useless if you lack any of the core knowledge that can make them useful. In this case whether the athlete you are claiming can help a school (based on last years stats) is even still attending that school.
Kinda like ranking teams in the preseason based on a compilation of scores from last year using a different group of athletes.
If you would like to go around applying your "logic" on these boards please feel free to continue. I actually find humor in your public displays of ignorance.
BTW, I have many times been called a name that begins with an F but Francis isn't it
