As a hunter for 50+ years and a conceal carry permit owner since the permit began, I have never heard anyone say to "walk out on the balcony and begin firing in the air" in any hunter safety and/or gun safety and/or self defense class I have ever attended... but your president has advice for you! Yes the leader and chief says to randomly fire in the air to protect yourself.
He also knows which guns you should own and which you should not own. He also knows the amount of ammo you should own. He also knows how many guns you should be able to buy. He also believes you need government approve to give/will your guns to someone. Sleepy knows a lot about guns and even more about gun safety! He is a genius!

The Four Primary Rules of Firearm Safety
- Watch that muzzle! Keep it pointed in a safe direction at all times.
- Treat every firearm with the respect due a loaded gun. It might be, even if you think it isn't.
- Be sure of the target and what is in front of it and beyond it. ...
- Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until ready to shoot.
