Let's keep up with weather-related changes/delays for this week right here.
The Central Clinton-Xavier game at Xavier tonight has been moved up to 5:00. The sophomore game has been canceled (although there is talk of maybe making that up next week).
Since the bad weather is predicted to move into eastern Iowa around 3 pm, I'm not sure how much this will help. But I guess we'll see.
Davenport Assumption's game tonight against Keokuk at Brady Street Stadium has also been moved up to 5 pm. I know the 4A Bettendorf-Davenport Central game from Thursday has already been moved to Saturday.
As an aside, I've been attending Xavier games since 2006. I don't remember any weather/lightning delays before 2013 (except for one preseason scrimmage in 2010, I think). There was a short delay in the 2013 opener at Hempstead (which frankly should never have happened - the lightning was 30 miles east and moving away) and the CR Wash game at Xavier got moved up to 5:00 due to weather. Last year's opener at Dowling had about an hour thunderstorm delay near halftime. Now in 2015, there's been one game completely canceled and another moved to an earlier kickoff with no guarantees they'll actually get the game in tonight. What a strange year for weather and football.
