Hello, folks.

I've been an old sage to this site for around a decade or so. And many people have come to appreciate the special 4A Number Cruncher and Power Rankings I've created during this time. It's been a pleasure doing them, even though it's cost me a good amount of sleep on Friday nights/Saturday mornings. It's been a labor of love and for information.

Unfortunately, most good things come to an end. And these are no different. Last fall, I became part of the staff at www.collegesportsmadness.com (I hope Luke doesn't mind me posting that). My role was much smaller in 2015, but I used the formula I've used in my Power Rankings here to create the CSM FCS Power Rankings, with a few tweaks.

2016 is bring more to my plate. I'm definitely going to be in charge of the site's FCS Bracketology, which is something I've fiddled around with the last couple years for Gary Rima's www.onpressrow.com (sorry again, Luke). On top of that, I may also be tasked with taking over the FCS Top 25 Poll for CSM. This is very exciting for me, as I'm getting in big with a national website, on the ground floor. Hoping that it leads to something, at least, partially profitable.

I'd like to thank the many folks I've traded banter with, in particular tnobd and KidSilverHair. I'd also like to give an extra special thanks to Luke Feddersen, for the platform to do the articles that I've done. I hope I haven't caused you too many headaches, the few times I've gotten into verbal barbs.

I'll still be around, but I anticipate that my participation will be greatly diminished.

Thanks again.

Thanks for providing the number cruncher and good luck in your new role. I appreciate all of the hard work that you put into the tool.

Yeah, man, good luck to you! Sounds like you're moving up in the world ... I hope you're just at the start of big things with your formulas and your rankings and your FCS website thingamajigs!

It's been so much fun swapping thoughts and comments back and forth. It's no secret your Number Cruncher inspired me to start doing my own playoff prognosticating, so I guess you're kind of a mentor. See if you can live with that responsibility. :D

Seriously, good luck! We will see you around!

Screwloose...it sure seemed like a short decade or so. I particularly enjoyed your 4A football updates with the 16 team format/ the old 4A point and league system posts starting in about week 5 or 6. I would say you cranked out every possible league, division, or district scenario in the last 10-12 years at no cost to the IHSAA.

IMO 4A playoff football belongs to the suburban teams in Iowa. It has just evolved that way due to the cost of facilities and the need for good experienced coaches.
But I am sure that your interest in Iowa 4A football was created the same way as myself...spending 27 Fridays playing football on the grass that turned brown by late October in the Midwest.

My oldest is starting at UTK this year. Hopefully, when he isn't focusing on his studies he will enjoy a fall of SEC football.

Glad to see your hard work pay off. Make sure to stick around so we can get in some more debates!
