New #1 in Class 3A Williamsburg was down by 10 at halftime to Clear Lake Amana, but rallied to win late.

#2 Le Mars knocked off conference foe ELC 87-66. LeMars's Tyler Borchers had 26 points, Trent Hilbrands had 21 points, and Tyler Paulson had 21 points. Talk about impressive numbers from three starters.

#3 in 2A Western Christian hung on to defeat Spencer by 5. Spencer has been playing extremely well lately outside of their game vs Storm Lake. Assumption over Burlington 50-28... Assumption has begun playing some lock down defense over the past few games and hitting more shots offensively.

The Central score was deceiving... It was a 28 point Assumption lead with about 3 minutes left. Hollingshed and Rummels made a ton of plays in the final minutes and Hollingshed cut the lead to 7 points with about 15 seconds left on a 3 pointer. Central only had 36 through 3 quarters and put up 30 in the 4th when the game was in my eyes out of reach.

Anyone who says teams get ref assisted victories are full of it. They lost by two possessions. Pretty sure you could look at the film and find multiple possessions in which they could have gotten a stop and/or converted on the offensive end. You know what they say about excuses.

Recker was clearing out with his off hand on nearly every drive he made. The refs took a critical basket off the board for Regina at the end calling a travel on a jump stop. No over the back calls when Arendt was pulling down arms and rebounds and being pulled to the floor. Cook was fouled on several put backs and couldn't get any calls especially in the 4th quarter.
If you were there you know the fans were ALL over the refs for numerous incidents of ongoing poor refereeing. I watch a lot of games and that was the worst refereeing I've seen this year.
However, don't get me wrong, Cascade is a pretty good team.
