Tripoli is one the most up and down teams I've seen this year. Embarrassing games against DB and NK, but then real solid games against teams like jainesville.

Final, Springville 79-West Central 10. The undefeated Orioles hold the lead and lock the top playoff spot in Division 4

As a 3 seed I really like N-K's chances against D4's number 2 if it turns out to be Easton or Kee. Riceville from D3 has beaten Kee and N-K kind of dismantled Riceville.

Only 79? Call me crazy, but I was expecting a 92-12 game

Well, you know what they say...if you tell everyone everything you know (or show everyone everything you have) they know it too...

The plethora of flags in the first quarter didn't help...but the Orioles changed things up a little bit tonight. Lots of different players in the end zone.

Springville past the second round? Not a chance. They have been blowing out bad teams. They aren't in the same class as Bosco or Janesville or even N-K for that matter. D3 may even sweep D4 this year.

That's exactly what most people said last year.

Last year :

I appreciate your D4 loayalty...but...even if I
give you Preston, who from D4 is good enough to beat Janesville or
Clarksville ? Bosco has played them all.,,I've seen them all.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________

And the answer to that question was....
blackeye.r191677.gif
a 54 point BEAT DOWN of Janesville by a D 4 team, and a 4 point loss to DB by that same D4 team who was playing with a concussed QBduring the 2nd half, in round 2.

Y'all don't learn from your errors in judgement, do you? But......after a certain while, you could at least give credit where it's probably due.
Even so...the only certainty is - Any given team, on any given Friday. Every team is a potential challenge. That is the only way to play the game.

While I think that Springville could possibly be beaten in the 2nd round or anytime beyond, saying that they aren't in the "same class" as Janesville or Bosco is about as crazy as it gets. As Omom stated, Springville has about the same roster (with the loss of a couple of players) that beat Janesville (who is also without a couple of players from last year) by 44 points and also played Don Bosco very tight to the end. I'm not saying that translates to a victory this year as each team is definitely different, but to say that they are in a different class is a very poor statement.

We shall see soon enough. Maybe Springville is good enough, I just see how poor the rest of the district is and lump them all together.

Look at common opponents to DB...not only would springville blow out NK, they'd beat jainesville, and it's going to be a 50/50 with DB.

Dont be a fool, they are doing much more than blowing out bad teams.

Well to mean the common opponents thing is a wash, maybe even a slight edge to Don Bosco. I really don't feel they would blow out N-K and would LOVE to see that game. I just think N-K may be better than people realize. They lost to West Bend by 2 TD's. They gave up a KO TD and a block punt TD and had 3 more turnovers. They also have switched QB's since then. The lost to Janesville but were up 2 TD's in the fourth before 4 turnovers. People don't realize they were without all 3 starting lineman that game. I don't know. They may not match up well with DB but I have seen the top 3 in D4 play and I like there chances against any of them. None have seen a team as physical as N-K. The great thing about America, we have the right to disagree and we will see come playoff time. And that's in less than 2 weeks!!

Nothing against NK, but they lost to WBM by more than 2 TD. Last time I looked, you couldn't score 18 points with 2TD's. Also realize that as has been posted elsewhere, all teams get better throughout the season. I'm sure NK has improved since Week 0 as I'm sure WBM has as well.

Actually what I mean was N-K had 3 tds to West Bends 5 not factoring in extras. Never said West Bend wasn't good. I am a big fan of West Bend. Them and N-K have had a nice little rivalry. Who I am down on is D4 and all the love for Springville.

And why is that? I don't really get why there is so much hostility/contempt/disrespect or just disregard for Springville. I mean, we don't mind admitting that Don Bosco has a great athlete in
Jake Hogan, or that Bosco is a team to contend with.
But if you're
comparing apples, Bosco hasn't had to play any worse a schedule than the
Orioles. In fact, the Dons & the Orioles have played two common
teams and come away with almost identical point spreads.
Beyond that, the Dons came
away with a 16 point win over 7-1 Janesville, while the Orioles dominated HLV, who has
since gone on to be a 7-2 team that stayed within a decent margin of a western
power this weekend. Springville may not be an elite team, but Play-offs, dome, or no... they deserve some recognition for what they've accomplished as a team over the past 3 years.
