Ryan Kriener of Spirit Lake

Ryan is a great player, should be interesting to see how he does at Iowa. Watched him play multiple times last year and didn't even think he was the best player on the court. He must have made some amazing improvements this offseason.

I like Ryan Kriener, and yes- the word is that he has improved immensely in the last year. Hawkeye Report has two videos of him posted, and he sure stands out. Reports are that Minnesota, Missouri and Wichita State have also offered, so Iowa was smart to offer, I think. With Cordell Pemsl, this gives Iowa two talented native- Iowa big men, although each brings a different set of skills to the table. The word out of Dubuque is that Cordell is two or three weeks ahead of schedule in his leg/knee surgery recovery, is now doing some assisted running and shooting threes, but still has to be careful until the leg is completely healed. Go SLOW, Cordell, and CONGRATS TO RYAN KRIENER!

I got to watch Ryan at Fort Wayne and Milwaukee this summer against the country's top talent. He is a very impressive post player. Very skilled, can shoot with either hand and very good footwork. He is an exceptional passer and runs the floor very well. In the games I saw he was constantly beating everyone down the floor for easy baskets and dunks. I also saw him at a team camp in Waverly. He scored 28 on a very good Waverly team and 32 on last years 4a runner-up Pleasant Valley. Both of those teams have elite big man and Ryan dominated everyone that day. Iowa got a good one with tons of upside. Love the Nick Collison comparison.
