The new pitch count rules put 1A schools at quite a disadvantage with half the field playing on just 2 days rest after their substate game.

Sundays are out. And the I-Cubs probably won't let them go back to playing 4 games on Saturday, because that means the I-Cubs effectively lose two home weekends.

So, if the assumption is that 1A will continue to play 2 Fri/2 Sat, then the only viable solution is to move up the 1A postseason.

2A plays substate on Tuesday, and state quarters the next Monday.
3A is Wednesday/Tuesday.
4A is Wednesday/Wednesday.

For 1A to get the same kind of break, substate games would need to be Saturday. Using the 2017 calendar and keeping similar breaks between rounds, that looks something like:

Wed 7/5 - district first round (where necessary)
Sat 7/8 - district quarter
Mon 7/10 - district semi
Wed 7/12 - district final
Sat 7/15 - substate
Fri 7/21 or Sat 7/22 - state quarterfinal
