How did the basketball season go for your team?
“This season was one of the best season that a team has had at Winterset in a long time. We were one game shy of the state tournament, which was much better than everyone thought we were going to be. We returned every guy from the year before, so the experience helped us a lot.”

What are your workout plans now going forward?
“This summer I have been trying to get as many shots up as I can and working on my handle as well.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“I feel that in order to play at as high of a level as I can at my size, I need to be a lights out shooter so that’s my main focus this summer. Getting as consistent as I can from behind the line and everywhere else.”

What AAU team are you playing for this off-season? How do you feel your team will be?
“I am playing for Kingdom Hoops again this summer. I am definitely excited to get July started and finish out my AAU career on a good note. We are all working hard to get where we want to be for July and I think we will be successful when the time comes.”

What are your goals for the AAU season?
“The rest of this summer I want to be consistent. Shooting the ball is my main job on this team so being able to do that well obviously helps the team. Playing well in July will definitely help recruiting spike so that is a goal as well.”

How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“We lost a lot of experience from last year’s team so it’s going to be a whole new look this coming year. The bulk of our scoring returns with Easton Darling and I, but whatever size we had last year is gone so we have to find guys willing to play bigger than they are and rebound with the big boys. It’s going to be big for Easton and me to lead the young kids and make them feel comfortable.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018-2019?
“The toughest game on our schedule next year I think will be Ballard. They return a lot of their core guys and with our lack of size will struggle to contain Connor Drew in the paint. If we can do what we do and shoot well, I think we can be successful.”

What sport do you want to play in college?
“I haven’t decided which route I want to go yet. Recruiting is just starting to pick up for basketball and football, so I will have to make that decision sometime soon.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“For basketball, I have been talking to Grandview, Dordt, and Briar Cliff the most. For football, I have talked to Dordt, Augustana, Dakota State, Upper Iowa, and Minnesota State Moorhead. Dordt just gave me my first college football offer the other day.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I would say Dordt or Grandview for basketball and definitely Dordt for football considering they are the only one to offer.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I’ve been to Dordt for camps and a visit. I’ve been to Grandview multiple times and played with their guys.”

What camps are you going to this summer?
“So far, I have the Dordt camp and I’ll go to some other NAIA camps.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I’ve always been an Iowa State guy growing up. I’m not going to change that.”
