How did the football season go for your team?
“We finished the season at 6-3, which was one game better than last year. We were third place in the district and just missed the playoffs. We felt as a team that we could have won all of the games we lost. Our highlight of the season was when we beat Aplington-Parkersburg at their place. They were ranked third in the state at that time.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“Currently, I am lifting three times a week in the morning with football and basketball players. As a team, we lift year-round and we add in plyometrics during in the spring and summer. I hope to put on some quality weight and play next season around 210 pounds. I will continue to do basketball and track during the off-season. I also hope to attend several football camps this summer.”
What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“As I stated before, I want to add some quality weight and muscle. At the same time, I would like to improve my agility and speed.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“We have a lot of returning starters on the offensive end as well as the defensive end. A lot of underclassmen have also been working very hard to earn a varsity spot. Our defense should be solid as we had the best defense in the district stat-wise (last year). Our main goal is to make it to the playoffs and from there make a deep run.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“Right now, we are unaware of who is in our district and our schedule has not been released. It is possible that Nevada will be in our district and we definitely hope to beat them as they beat us in the season opener last season in overtime.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I have a passion for basketball and football, but I’m probably leaning towards football in college.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I currently have received no interest from any colleges.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“No.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“I hope to attend Iowa and Iowa State football camps. I have also submitted my name to The Opening in Chicago and hope to receive an invite.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I’ve always been a diehard Iowa Hawkeye fan.”
