How did the basketball season go for your team?
“The school season was so much fun. The season was a lot different than my freshman and sophomore years. We started off the year 6-5 at Christmas break, and we knew that we were better than what the record showed. We obviously were not happy with that. That wasn’t West Fork basketball, and to be honest, it was embarrassing. We didn’t buy into our man to man defense yet. The Dike game was a big turning point in our season. This game is when we finally bought into man to man defense and communicating on the defensive end of the floor. It carried into the next game versus Newman, who we blew out by over 30 after we got beat by 25 in the first go around with them. We kept rolling and rattled off 13-straight wins I think.”

What are your workout plans now going forward?
“My workout plans as of right now are just getting shots up on my own. I have been putting up shots on my own. AAU has started, so I have gotten really good skill work there too. I’m in the weight room lifting out of season once again with the goal of putting weight on, becoming more athletic, and overall a better athlete. I plan to keep this plan the rest of the spring, then add more basketball related work once school is out and there is more time.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“Obviously, no one has a perfect shot. There are always things that can be done to improve your shot. My main skill that I want to improve on this off-season is my ball handling. I think that if I have better ball handling skills, I will be able to get to my spots more often. Then obviously I will try to improve on all other skills, but an emphasis will be put on the ball handling this off-season.”

What AAU team are you playing for this off-season? How do you feel your team will be?
“I am playing with Iowa Prep again this summer. I like our team a lot. I think we will have a chance to be very good. We all have the ability to shoot the ball at a high clip and can put the ball in the hole. All of the guys on our team have great character and are a great group of guys to be around. We have great coaches, which is always a plus.”

What are your goals for the AAU season?
“My goals for this AAU season are the same as always. To get better. I love the competition of the AAU circuit. I take it as a great opportunity to improve and build great relationships with teammates and coaches.”

How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“The future is very bright for West Fork. I believe that we have a chance to be very, very good, but we all have to buy in. We have some nice pieces returning. We will definitely miss the seniors, but we will have to have people step up and take their spot. We had a good JV season too, so there will be some people off that JV team that will step up and play varsity next year. We are looking to get over that hump and get down to Des Moines in March though.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018-2019?
“I have no clue who will be our toughest game next year. I haven’t seen a schedule yet. We will have the conference games, which got crazy last year. We learned that any team can be beaten on any given night.”

What sport do you want to play in college?
“I want to play basketball in college, without a doubt.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Briar Cliff, Wartburg, and Grand View have all been in contact with me.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I am actually going on a visit to Grand View.”

What camps are you going to this summer?
“I will be going to the UNI team and individual camp this year. I will also be going to the Nebraska-Omaha individual camp again. Outside of that, I am not sure which other ones I will go too. I will have to see what dates work and play it by ear as we get closer to the dates of the camps.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Growing up, I followed all of the DI programs in Iowa, but I would say that I followed UNI the closest with Seth (Tuttle) being from West Fork. I watched him play through high school and then just followed him through UNI.”
