How did the football season go for your team?
“The 2017 football season was definitely one I will never forget. Being back with my grade made it all the more fun on the field. Finishing the season 8-3 and becoming district champs was amazing. I couldn't have done it without my amazing teammates.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“My workout plans as well as those of the team starts in the weight room. Our workout plan contains a mix of Olympic lifts and agility workouts.”
What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“This off-season, I will work to improve my quickness and agility. I believe being quick off the line is key to beating the defender. The first few steps are essential to getting an edge on your opponent on both sides of the ball.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“Every year, we strive to be great. My teammates and I dedicate ourselves to bettering each other on and off the field. We are already looking forward to next season and excited to welcome the new juniors as they will be a big help on the team.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“We approach each game the same way. The next game is the toughest every week. The next game mentality helps us focus in on who we have that week. The next team on the schedule is for next week.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I am interested in taking my game to the next level. Being only a junior, I am not quite sure what I would like to do for a career yet, which will play a role in where I attend school. Football would definitely be the sport I'd like to play, but I also really enjoy basketball.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have not been recruited very hard by anyone recently from my knowledge. I have not been reached out to. I will definitely be keeping my eyes and ears open though, as I am interested.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I plan to make college visits to the three state schools within the next couple of months. Towards the end of the school year heading into summer, I would really like to explore more schools in the area.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“This summer, we will attend the Upper Iowa team camp as always. I will also attend the University of Dubuque's wide receiver and defensive back camp for sure. I will definitely be looking for other camp forms and invitations.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Growing up I have always had a love for Iowa football. The organization is great and I love watching the Hawkeyes on Saturdays.”
