How has the season been going so far?
“The start of the seasons hasn’t been exceptional. Losing our big man, Derek Krogmann, has really hurt us, but once we learn to play without him, I think we have a chance to be pretty good this year.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I feel that our team overall can improve by handling pressure that the defense brings. So far, we have had a lot of turnovers that we just need to clean that up.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“To be successful going forward, we need to make fewer turnovers and find guys that can consistently score the ball.”

How do you feel you have been playing?
“I don’t believe I’ve been playing amazing by any means. I had one good game against independence where I had 28 but other than that I haven’t scored much, and my shooting percentages hasn’t been where I would like them to be.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this year?
“This year, I’m really trying to improve how much of a leader I am and how vocal I am with my teammates. Once again, losing Derek last year really hurt us because he was a leader through example, so I really just have to step up and help the younger guys out.”

What are your goals for the rest of the season?
“The rest of the season obviously we want to make it to state like every other team in Iowa, but truly we just want to build, learn, and get better this year because next year we only lose one senior and have almost all of our scoring back.”

What sport do you want to play in college?
“As of right now, I would prefer to play basketball in college and that’s what I’ve been leaning to since I was young. I will always keep my eyes on football and see if that has the ability to take me anywhere.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Recently, I went on a visit to Morningside, which I haven’t been talking to for very long. I’ve been to a camp at Southwest Minnesota State and am going back this winter for a visit. I’ve been in touch with Truman State, Clarke, and Wayne State.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“The school that has been recruiting me the hardest has been Southwest Minnesota State, and up until about a couple weeks ago Morningside has really gotten on me. I’ve been to camps at Wayne State, Truman State, Southwest Minnesota State. I’ve been on a visit to Clarke and Morningside.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Growing up like most Iowa kids, I’ve also loved the Iowa Hawkeyes. Lately I’ve been following the Panthers just to see the team that Derek plays with.”
