What have you been doing as of late with your workouts?
“For workouts, I’ve been doing a three-day strength program on a new app our coach introduced to us called VOLT. It’s awesome. We input or max lifts and the app gives us a workout with weights based on our maxes.”
What do you feel you have improved on the most since football ended?
“I feel like I’ve improved on my maturity as a football player. If I make a mistake, I put it behind me instead of letting my emotions get the best of me. I know if I want to be a good leader for my team, I have to always stay positive.”
What are your areas of focus going forward?
“I really want to focus on my conditioning. If I have to play both sides of the ball this year, then I’m going to have to be in great shape to be sure I play to the best of my ability.”
How do you believe your team will be next season?
“We are low on numbers this year, but we still have a lot of guys wanting to get better and wanting to succeed. I think if we practice hard every day and stay motivated, we will be just fine.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“Our toughest game on our schedule is going to be Ankeny Centennial. They made it to the semifinals in the Dome last year and they have a good squad this year too.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would love to play collegiate sports. I love football, but baseball has always been my first love.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have received a couple junior day visits from Simpson and Luther.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“No, I have not.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“I’m pretty busy with baseball during the summer, but I will be going to our South Dakota team camp and maybe a couple of individual camps.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I’ve always been an Iowa Hawkeye fan since I can remember.”
