How has the preparation been going for this upcoming season?
“Things have been going really well as we are preparing for the upcoming season. The team has put in a lot of great work this entire offseason and as a whole, we are making great strides as we get closer to week 1 of the season.”
What are your goals for the season?
“I don’t think my goals have changed from year to year. A district championship and a spot in the playoffs are certainly two main goals that we are looking to accomplish this year.”
What areas do you feel your team needs to improve on?
“I think our team is a very well-rounded group. With that being said, we are still in the first couple weeks of practice and so as of right now, our biggest things are continuing to just perfect the little things like getting our timing down on plays and making sure everyone is doing their job.”
Who is your opponent in the season opener and how do you feel about them overall?
“We open up the season playing Marion. We are very excited to get the opportunity to play them week 1. Last year, they came down to our place, played a great game, and ended up beating us by a large margin. We are expecting them to be a very tough opponent once again this year.”
Who do you feel is the toughest individual player you will play against this season?
“We will see a lot of great players throughout the year, but I definitely think our toughest challenge will be facing AJ Coons and Jace Andregg at Solon. Solon has a great QB in Cam Miller, who will do a great job getting those guys the ball. Coons has had two really good games against us the past two years, so we hope to be able to keep him more in check this year.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I love the game of football, but I really have no desire to go on and play football at the next level. Because of that, I really haven’t been in contact with any coaches or schools about playing football. I am, however, interested in playing college baseball and have been in contact with schools such as Northern Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Augustana, Winona State, and a few others.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Both of my parents attended the University of Iowa, so I have been a really big Hawkeye fan growing up.”
