How did the basketball season go for your team?
“This year’s basketball season went really well. We returned almost everyone and thought we had a really good shot at a title. Though we came up short, going to state is still considered a pretty great season.”

What are your workout plans now going forward?
“With baseball taking up most of the summer, my coach has done a really great job of creating gym times and arranging scrimmages for us to get work in this off-season.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“This off-season, I’ve really been working on my jump shot and pull up game. Last year I felt like I was able to get by most defenders, but adding a good jump shot to my game could really take it to another level.”

What AAU team are you playing for this off-season? How do you feel your team will be?
“I’m not currently playing for an AAU team this summer. Baseball just takes up too much time, but we have plenty of games this summer with our future varsity squad that will really help us get some team chemistry and help the new guys get a feel for what high level basketball is like.”

How do you believe your high school basketball team will be next season?
“We still have a very good team, and with a 6-9 kid guarding the rim, we should still be very solid. We will have some very solid guard play as well. I really think that we have a team that is capable of a state tournament appearance.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018-2019?
“I think Winterset will most likely be our toughest game of the year, but Pella Christian always has a really good program. These two games should be a real good test for us.”

What sport do you want to play in college?
“That’s tough because I really like basketball and baseball. I think it would be a really tough decision between those two sports.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Nothing really. Every now and then, there are some letters from small schools asking to keep them in consideration, but nothing offer wise.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not.”

What camps are you going to this summer?
“So far, I am not planning on going to any camps. I am just going to get into the gym a couple hours a day and work by myself or with a coach.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I have always been an Iowa fan. That’s just how I grew up, but I also like Michigan.”
