How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall the season was great. I can’t wait for next year. We had a great group of seniors who helped us become better players and helped me become more of a leader. We didn’t start as good as we wanted, but we got rolling in the second half of the season when we started playing as a team. Certainly, how and when our season ended was heartbreaking.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I started working out a week after the football season ended. I’ve been working on my speed, athleticism and core strength along with continued weight training. I’ve also started track and yoga. Additionally, I will be playing baseball this year.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think we are going to be good. We feel we have the ability to make a strong run at the state title. We have some playmakers coming back for their senior season and look forward to seeing what juniors coming in will be able to help the team. I really think we have all the right pieces for next year to be a strong team.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Without a doubt it will be Southeast Polk. They have a lot of really good players that are coming in after a great season last year.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“The best player we will play will be Xavier Nwankpa. We have a lot of respect for him.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Absolutely, I want to play football in college. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little kid.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have been in communication with Air Force and UNI so far.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“Nothing yet due to Covid, but I hope to attend some camps this summer if allowed.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was and is Iowa. I love going to their games and watching them on TV.”
