How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season went very well overall, even though things didn't go as planned losing in the first round of the playoffs. For me, it was a great experience playing at the varsity level on a 4A team.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“This winter will be my first off-season in quite a while since I’m no longer playing basketball. I lift with the school four days out of the week with our strength and conditioning coach. On top of the school lifting, I also go work with a speed coach at Acceleration Iowa three days out of the week and will lift at my gym a couple days a week as well. I also play baseball and have been participating in an indoor hitting league. We’ll start hitting indoor as a team later in the winter.”
What are you trying to improve on the most as a player?
“On the field, I'm trying to get my lateral movement quicker, more explosive, and just being faster as a player. The Acceleration Iowa workouts have been very beneficial for these improvements I need to make before the next season.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“This season, we had a lot of seniors and I was one of the few defensive players to not be a senior. Although we lose some key guys to graduation, we should have a lot of younger guys step into their place and hopefully make a run in the playoffs.”
Who do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule next season?
“Similar to this year, our toughest opponent will be West Des Moines Valley again. They are a very well put together team with a lot of talent. This year, we play them at our home stadium, so I feel like we will have a chance at an upset.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I've always wanted to play sports at the collegiate level growing up. I would like to play college football at the highest level possible.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven’t heard from any colleges yet, but since I just played at the varsity level this year, I hope to hear from schools soon. I plan to reach out to some schools to gauge interest in me.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I haven’t been on any recruiting visits, but I have visited Iowa, Iowa State, and UNI camps. That gave me the chance to meet some of their coaches and see their facilities.”
Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I plan on participating in more camps this year within the state and out of the state. It will depend on who invites me to their camps.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“The Iowa Hawkeyes have been my favorite team growing up. I also follow Iowa State, UNI, and Alabama.”
