How has the season been going so far?
“I joined later than I would have hoped, as I originally was not going to play due to breaking my back last season, but I just missed the game to much. So far, we have overcome a lot of adversity as of late losing one of our studs in Kip and Newman due to a sprained ankle. We are finally coming together as a team and last night there was times where we showed some glimpses of a team that can really be great. I think our season has been successful so far. Our losses helped us become a better team in the end.”
Who is your next opponent? What are your thoughts on them overall?
“We have Western Christian and I believe and this one for me means a lot. There is one building I have never won in and that's at Western. You better believe I am motivated to get one there after losing by a last second shot last year and this being my last dance. It sucks hearing that their stud got hurt because he's a good ball player but a better person.”
What do you feel your team can improve on?
“Our team right now needs to be mentally tougher. There are some teams you watch, and you say man I would hate to play against those guys and we just need to get that attitude. I believe that there are only two things that you really can control once the ball is tipped and that's attitude and effort. I think if we all gave 110% on both that our team could be deadly.”
What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“The two biggest things are being strong with the ball and being patient. On film, if you watch and we are moving the ball and giving up a good shot for a great shot, we are really good. Also, when you watch and we are shooting five seconds into the possessions and turning it up, we are not the greatest.”
What are your plans at the college level?
“I am currently committed and signed to run track and cross county at Minnesota State, so that's what I want to do obviously. I had some big offers, but Mankato just felt right.”
